What are we all about?

Over the years we have come in contact with many people struggling with one of many of life’s issues. In every case they have had a general sense of hopelessness. A feeling of “nothing matters’ seems to overwhelm them. These people are just like you and me. Actually they are you and me. Just regular people who are hit with life square in the face. We have had more than our share of struggles. We hope that by us sharing our struggles and other people’s struggles and victories we can help you to tackle your own.

Research has repeatedly shown that children who grow up in a household with both their biological father and mother do much better addressing life struggles and challenges than those who grow up in single-parent households. A recent book by Dr. Kyle Pruett of Yale Medical School, “Fatherneed: Why Father Care Is as Essential as Mother Care for Your Child” speaks to this very issue.  Children have needs that can only be met by both biological parents. That’s a hard pill to swallow for most of us. I come from a divorced family. The Children's Fund reports that one in three  American children is born to unmarried parents (2004 Key Facts About American Children). This is why it is so important that we do all that we can do to preserve our marriages and families.

Throughout the pages of this site you will find links to articles and resources and our take on how to apply them to your life.  Simply reading an article does not make anyone succeed. It is only through implementing the suggestions that any of us can change. We also need to know how to evaluate the information that we receive. Life is all about, change. We are constantly changing. We are learning new things, changing habits and thought patterns and even life styles. We are not the same as we were 5 years ago.

So with all this change how do we know where we are headed? The answer to that question lies in what compass we are using.
